Regular classes | Levels
Our regular classes are divided into 4 levels. Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate, Advanced.
We often get the question. At what level am I dancing now? Below is a brief explanation of the levels.
We consider several aspects to be important when determining your level. Control, knowledge, experience, technique. This is different for every dancer or non-dancer. Several factors therefore also play a role.
We are happy to discuss with you personally what suits you best and where you will have the most fun 🙂
A few principles that Alma de Tango and her teachers stand for during their classes at every level.
- Maximum number of couples per class. (The Hague 8-9 couples & Rotterdam 10-12 couples per class)
- Personal attention during class
- Attention to do’s & don’ts (rules) during dance evenings (milongas)
- Structured classes by professional teachers
- From improvers, include input from the students if possible during the course
- Our goal ‘to create dancers’ who are ready for the milonga!
- Lots of fun, humor and of course hard work 🙂
Beginners
No experience with Argentine Tango or taken some classes. This course can be taken multiple times!
Improvers
Followed at least 1 beginner course/six months of dance experience and knowledge of the basics of Argentine Tango. During this course we repeat the basics and discover new combinations with these basics or also called ‘improvising’. Of course, also new elements and more focus on musicality. This course can be taken multiple times!
Intermediate
At least 1-1.5 years of dance experience. Leaders and followers can already dance with some sense of musicality.
This course will be expanded with new combinations and techniques and a higher level of musicality. This course can be taken multiple times!
Advanced
Minimum 2-5 years of dance experience. Leaders and followers know their roles. Even when they would dance ‘alone’. Focus: deepening technique, feeling, musicality, combinations and techniques. This course can be taken several times!
From Improvers, no course is 100% the same. Of course, the concept is the same, but we tailor the material to the level/wishes of the group at that moment. This keeps our classes challenging! Even if you follow it multiple times.
