Chiwei Luu
Teacher Argentine Tango at Alma de Tango
Chiwei discovered his passion for dance during his student years. Initially planning to take
hip-hop classes, fate—along with a mischievous friend—led him to salsa instead. He quickly caught the dancing bug, diving into other Latin dances such as Bachata, Kizomba, and Rueda de Casino. Chiwei joined a student dance association, performing with show teams and eventually teaching workshops and technique classes.
Throughout his dance journey, Chiwei found joy in the quiet dialogue and connection between dance partners. This search for deeper connection led him to Argentine Tango after witnessing a captivating performance. Feeling an instant resonance, he soon began taking lessons under Jory and Lorena, and later with Los Veliz, fueling his drive to continue learning and growing.
Chiwei started teaching Argentine Tango with his dance partner, Semina, at a student dance
association. Their lessons are structured and clear, emphasizing both technique and musical
expression, with a strong focus on fostering a deep dance connection. They believe in
mastering the basics to make every move feel amazing and natural, and in ensuring
personalized attention for each student. They are happy to guide and support you in your
tango journey!
